Subjects Taught
Math, Science

I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from Troy University Dothan in May, 1998.

To date, I have taught grades 1-6 in Texas and Louisiana.

I taught 2nd grade at a school on Fort Hood in Texas, grades 1, 3 and 4 in El Paso, Texas, and grades 5 and 6 (math only) in Louisiana.

I was the Student Council Coordinator for the 3rd-6th graders at Anacoco Elementary in Louisiana, and the Math Teacher Leader for that campus as well.

I am also a trained MRT (Master Resilience Trainer) through the Army.

I was born in Austin, Texas and raised in Phoenix, Arizona.  I married my high school sweetheart in 1994, and embarked on an adventure of a lifetime as a military spouse when he graduated from Northern Arizona University and enlisted with the Army.

During my 20 years as a military spouse, I completed my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, gave birth to three boys, stayed at home to raise the three boys, traveled around Europe (as we were stationed there for almost seven years), met and hung out with an amazing amount of really cool people from all over the world, eventually went back to work teaching once my boys were in school, experienced (and learned from) two deployments, and watched my husband retire from the Army and begin his second career . . . which led me here, to Huntsville, Alabama and Columbia Elementary!
