Education

Welcome to a wonderful new year of learning! I began my teaching journey at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where I graduated magna cum laude and received my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Special Education, and Collaborative Teaching. Go Bulldogs!!!

Experience

I have lived in Madison since I was 3 years old attending West Madison Elementary, Madison Elementary, Liberty Middle, and Bob Jones High School. It is my privilege to be a product of the Madison City School System and return to give back to the community that has helped me become who I am. I started teaching for Madison City in 2004 at Heritage Elementary teaching  4th grade for my first two years and then teaching 5th grade for three years. I transferred in 2009 to become part of the Mill Creek family where I taught 4th grade for 8 years . I am now a Columbia Astro teaching 3rd grade. I hope that the knowledge I have gained through my experience will provide for a fun, positive, learning environment that will challenge your child to reach new goals to become a better student and citizen!

Bio

I enjoy cheering on the Crimson Tide – Roll Tide Roll, playing with my children, crafting, running, and hanging out at the pool.

Teaching for Madison City has been a wonderful experience. I have also enjoyed coaching volleyball and softball at both Discovery and Liberty Middle School in the past.

This year I will be teaching Math and Science so bring your journals and join me for an amazing trek through learning! My goal as a teacher is to challenge your child to build relationships with their peers, strive for excellence, and to think outside of the “box.” It is my wish to have every child leave my class with a love for learning that will serve them for the rest of their lives.
