My formal education began with earning my bachelor's degree in 1991 from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. My degree is in elementary education. I also earned my master's degree in 1993 from Middle Tennessee State University in curriculum writing and instruction.

My teaching career began in 1991. Throughout the years, I have taught various grades. After graduating college, I taught 6th grade and 3rd grade in TN. We then moved to NC where I taught 2nd grade. A new move took us to GA where I taught 2nd and 3rd grades. In the Madison City School system, I have taught 4th grade and am now currently teaching 2nd  grade at Columbia Elementary School.

My husband, David, and I were married in 1996. We grew up together in  Tullahoma, TN. Go Vols!!!! We have two  children, Emily ( senior at James Clemens ) and Sam (freshman at James Clemens).  We enjoy camping, hiking, and biking as a family. My family also enjoys traveling. Whether we hike through Yellowstone or swim at the beach, we love to be adventurous. I  also enjoy gardening and watching all the birds in my backyard. My kids bring me great joy and I always love spending time with them. Some quiet activities that I participate in are cooking, gardening, and reading.
